WHAT WE DO

The Cornell Conservation Finance Working Group works on interdisciplinary problems across sustainable finance and private-public partnerships with the goal of promoting global biodiversity and significant investments in natural capital.

The team is composed of passionate undergraduate and graduate students at Cornell University under the leadership of Dr. John Tobin-de la Puente. We partner with a diverse range of organizations and academics to craft publications, conduct research, and facilitate dialogue around conservation finance.

Our research is focused on quantifying and narrowing the global biodiversity financing gap. This includes working to reduce barriers to conservation projects such as harmful agricultural subsidies, ineffective metrics, and low institutional awareness, in addition to increasing accurate valuations of nature.
